La Vivenda Descollaz

One Saturday morning in April 2016, during a trip to Portugal in Lisbon area, we were looking for (without really expecting something) a house, a villa …; After visiting a handful of houses, we were 3 days before we’ll go back to Switzerland. An idea like a dream arises during the night, a small corner of the Alentejo called us! Why rather here than elsewhere? Impossible to say. As soon as we thought about it, we immediately made a look: during the breakfast, we were looking at real estate listings for this area. A hold tooks on our attention, appointment was made for 1.00PM on th same day to visit what would become Vivenda Descollaz. Chance made us head towards Falcoeiras and arrive in this little paradise.

Once arrived in front of the house, nothing extraordinary (walls completely decrepit, infiltrations of water, cracked walls, weeds on the terrace …) but once the door was crossed, it was the revelation: we were seduced by the space and the view of the olive fields… We totally cracked and signed the same day! Of course, a lot of renovation and cleaning were waiting for us. Originally, this house was built on the ruins of a small country house of the nineteenth century by its former owner who was largely inspired by a film for the exterior facade and interior design (we leave you the surprise to discover which film it is) … After the period of abandonment, we wanted to offer a new life to this house, opening its doors to our guests. We start our activity in spring 2020 and are introducing this little piece of paradise to our guests.

Our Bed & Breakfast perfectly matches our philosophy of life: nature, environment, calm, friendship, friendliness…
